Hey guyysss, this trip to Bangkok was way way wayy back during January (24/1-28/1) when I was lucky enough to ngam ngam arrive when Bangkok was turning chilly and went back to KL when it was turning back to it's natural hot weather. We honestly didn't know about the weather and that was why I planned out my ootds with thin clothes but thankfully I was a rubbish collector so I always pack up my whole closet to wherever I travel to no matter how many days I'm going for.
So this is basically my solution(which doesn't work all the time) to explain how I would like my photos to be like. I must be like: "okay remember how I stood/squat/half squat to take this shot ahh"
Finally my boy, you did it after 40 shots! *huhu so proud it was only 40 shots* onlyy~~~
Accommodation wise, we used airbnb of course , and picked out a very cosy looking , modern and moderately priced studio apartment at Sukhumvit Rd. We were greeted by very friendly hosts and we got to rest on the ground floor as our room wasn't ready and it was a cafe below the rooms. Oh by the way, because we were young inexperienced tourists, we sat those arranged airport taxis to the hotel which costed 700 baht (RM 80) thinking it was the cheapest we could get, only to know we could have used GrabTaxi app which will only cost 100+ baht omooooo. *heartpainsiaa*
The best thing about the location of our stay is that we are in the middle of two railway stations, 5 minutes walk to the underground MRT station, and 10 minutes walk to the BTS skytrain. So this was what we did for the whole 5 days, walk-train-walk-train. Taxi wasn't expensive but it was always jam so we'd rather not because we go thru that everyday in KL.
First stop : Chatuchak Market! (right beside Kampaengphet MRT station) It was one of my favourite places to be at BKK.
I was like OMG I must try their coconut ice cream! but I'm sorry to say that it was too milky and creamy for me.. are all coconut ice creams at bkk like this or was I just too suey because Sangkaya tasted very different :O The only pro of bkk coconut ice creams is that we can add unlimited toppings and those toppings are all so good eg: glutinous rice.
Next was this *favourite food at BKK* toasted garlic bread and can add condensed milk to it. Salty and sweet is the best combination ever *like* *like* *like*. I'm waiting for KL night markets to have this.
Aunty I miss you.....r garlic bread.
Remember to look for this store at Chatuchak market!
Next up it is the food in my must-eat-err-day-err-night-for-five-days list and honestly Thailand is the land of GREAT mangoes and coconut milk and coconut water. Mango rice or anything related to mangoes at Bkk is hella cheap and so good mmmm.
I've only came to know about this type of food upon arrival at the Chatuchak Market and literally immediately fell in love with this bowl of heaven. Only 50 baht (RM5.80) for a big bowl of green mangoes filled with sweet, spicy and salty sauce which is something like the rojak dipping sauce in Msia but BETTER. I googled it and if not mistaken the sauce is called Nam-pla wan. Must try!
We came across this Youtuber Mark Wiens who married a Thai so he frequently travels to Thailand and film about Thai food so we decided to go to the places he has been and claimed to love the food there and this is one of them. This place's highlight is on Tom Yum Goong and of course we ordered that.
Here it is, their Tom Yum Goong. Tasted it annnndddd we didn't like it :/ It has some kind of taste which we couldn't understand lol and it was just too plain sour. Maybe it was just us and our taste buds haha.
I wanted to go to the 3ce shop at Emquartier Mall so we did, everything is expensive in there and the 3ce didn't have all of the products that were on the website so I didn't get anything.
On the way back as we walked on the bridge, there were some officers holding on to these cute dogs and we were allowed to play with them so of course I went to one of them and look at him!
I loved how the weather was so cooling that we could walk around the whole day and not sweat because the weather can really affect our mood especially when we're going to so many places in one day but it was also too cold to not wear an outerwear loool.
We went to Siam Paragon to explore their food court but it was so packed so I opted for Tomyum Goong (again) and bf bought Tom Yum Goong (also) from another side of the food court.
Somehow I still prefer KL's Ah Roy and Thai Thai Tomyum hahaha.
It looks appealing but if you ever go there I would recommend you to not try this unless you like the taste of liquid medicine.
We got out of the mall and walked around at the same time we were looking for Mango Tango and we went to the small stall instead of the shop lot one because that was packed and the weather is too good to not eat outdoors! Spot the bf.
Spot the plastic bag from Boots lol. I knew Boots is like Watsons but the UK version from Zoella's vlogs so of course I had to go there to shop. I bought tons of Batiste hairspray because they were having a promotion and it was so worth it compared to buying it in KL, and their Soap and Glory products were cheaper too. Besides those that I mentioned there were many things worth buying but we all have a certain limit of budget now don't we *cries a river*.
Aiyo so small cup masak masak meh. It wasn't enough for me but the price of one cup is enough to buy a big portion of mango rice by the streets. Even tho it wasn't cheap I still had it again the next day because it was the second best that I have tasted ( first is Mae Varee yum yumm).
Main store (nearby): Mango Tango
Bangkok Siam Square
Soi 3

Opening Hours: 11:30 – 22:00
Third day at BKK and the flowers were still doing great lol.
This place called Soei was another recommended restaurant by Mark Wiens, so we ordered everything he claimed to love and we were both excited to try them. First up is this unique drink that kinda looks and tastes like the 3 layered tea just that that middle layer is missing. It tasted like milk with brown sugar but the milk taste was mild and I like it that way. There were these seeds that is something like chia seeds which is chewy and so addictive that I kept drinking until it was almost done before the dishes were served.
There is an old railway next to the restaurant, it seemed like a unique place to set up a restaurant, but in reality, the gasoline smell really made me headache.
Mackerel heads as appetizer, I don't usually eat fish head but this one felt like eating crackers so I kind of liked it :)
This was their Mackerel fish Tom Yum but I didn't like it, it was just plain sour..
Most excited for this because I love fried eggs with watery yolk but it was so salty because it's basically soaked in soy sauce.
This soft shell crab curry is considered okay and the curry tasted like Japanese curry and there was a generous amount of soft shell crabs.
Mackerel fish fried rice.
I forgot what was the sauce but it is Mackerel fish again and I really like this dish, it's sweet but not too much and the fish meat is smooth.
Basically the food I love most in Bangkok is their street food, couldn't emphasise more on how much I love their mango with this sweet and spicy sauce. I even purposely took the train to this particular street on my last day at bkk just to find it but I was too late and it wasn't there T_____T
I forgot which day was which but we went to Central World on one of the days and were so excited to skate because we checked that there is an ice skating rink there, but look at this! It was empty so we didn't felt like it hahaha but those lights tho.
Actually I wasn't planning on trying After You toasts because I tried the Haraju-cube and it wasn't my type of dessert but we had nothing much to do at Central World so might as well.
I went over to the counter and was speed deciding in my mind about which to choose while the staff was waiting for me to order and I was like *omggg which oneee* so at last I went for the Shibuya Honey toast, which was niceee but I wished I could try the Chocolate toast with strawberry and also the Nutella toast and basically all of them ugh!
Next stop, Asiatique The Riverfront! (no it's not this building lol) We had to take a free shuttle service to our destination so we get to see temples and stuff on the way.
Ooh that ferris wheel indicates that we are near!
So this is how you get to Asiatique : Take the BTS to Saphan Taksin station and once you walk out of the station you would see a walkway to the pier where there is a free shuttle service to bring you to Asiatique, you'd have to queue up as there would be a crowd and then enjoy the ride! The shuttle service opens until 23:00. You could go there by taxi but it will only waste your time because of the jam (yep unless you wanna rest your butts before hours of walking begins)
Opening hours of Asiatique: 5pm till midnight
Location: 2194 Charoen Krung Rd,
Wat Phraya Krai, Bang Kho Laem,
Bangkok 10120, Thailand
As tourists we will occasionally be fooled by overpriced gimmicks such as this 'Juliet Love Garden'.
How dumb of me to not realise that the reason why the staff was non stop courteously taking pictures of us with her own dslr was because they sell pictures hahahahah, I even asked her to use my dslr to take and she was like: "okay but I can only take one picture" and it made me wonder maybe she's not used to using mine lol.
Andddd it was finally the moment that I have been waiting for, the Asiatique Sky Ferris Wheel! I have a thing for theme park rides, (yeah typical) the higher the better but this isn't very high only la lol.
300 baht per adult (RM35) yep very the expensive but we were ready to go all out whilst travelling hahaha.
Opening hrs: 5pm till midnight.
We couldn't see much but it went for 5 rounds or more so I was happy because it was kind of like a time to rest so basically we paid to sit after all the walking. I only realized I didn't take many pictures of Asiatique now as I blog but its basically rows and rows of shops selling overpriced clothes that you can get cheaper at Platinum Mall but they sell wholesale Pocky sticks with flavours we don't have at Malaysia.
Next up was Bangkok's Chinatown which is also known as Yaowarat ! Of course we would eat at the famous T & K Seafood and it's even on Waze so it's easier. Stopped at Hua Lamphong MRT and then called up a GrabTaxi to this place because we tried walking and got kinda lost.
The seafood here is really fresh and the prices are considered good value for the money. Like the tomyum soup that has prawns, squid and fish slices costed 150 baht which could serve up to 4-5 pax.
I was ready to eat! Sadly that day I had stomach problems (due to overeating Tom Yum over the past few days lol) so I didn't get to fully enjoy the food but it was reallllllyyy good!
On the opposite of T & K is their competitor so it's really easy to go to the wrong one so it's advisable to ask clearly. Due to the crowd and a very messy queue they go by the number system so you got to remember to take your number from the staff and wait for your number to be called.
I'm not a pro at explaining food so all I can say is it was the best Tom Yum and seafood that I had in Bangkok and I would definitely come again if I have the opportunity.
T&K Seafood at Chinatown (Thailand, Bangkok)

Chinatown, Bangkok 10100, Thailand
Opening Hours: Daily 6pm to 2am
Purposely took the BTS to Thong Lo Station , walked down and crossed the road to Sukhumvit Soi 55 for Mae Varee Mango Sticky Rice. It won't be hard to find because you'd see a very big toy mango hanging outside the shop. A box of this costs 100 baht but it's prob 2-3 times bigger portion than Mango Tango but calculating the time and money spent on getting to this place then it's a fair game lol.
This was the last mango sticky rice that I had eaten there because it was the night before I went back and I regretted for trying it so late otherwise I would take the train there everyday for this box of edible treasure.
Favourite green mangoes with Nam Pla Wan sauce (missed this the most sigh)
The other side of Thong Lo station was Sukhumvit Soi 38 which was a night street food area which is well known but I was too early so a lot of stalls haven't open yet.
Last night at Bangkok so we decided to go to the Skybar @ Sirocco. I usually have no guts to go to high class places because I was afraid later the food too expensive but I gotta pretend chill and forcefully order something but this time I got the courage because I'm a tourist there and that point itself makes me feel slightly powerful lol.
Turns out I didn't even spend a cent there because all we have to do is dress up appropriately (formal) and enjoy the view! Anyone who goes up there were treated like VIPs and ordering drinks or food was optional. Here I am holding my super good quality 400 baht clutch from Platinum Mall while scouting for an angmoh that 3>was holding a dslr (better skills) so I could ask him to take a picture for us with my phone because I left my dslr in the room wtf.
Location: The Dome at lebua, 1055, Silom Road, Bangkok 10500, Thailand
Yay most of the things on our to-do-or-to-go-list checked! Feeling very content but at the same time sad to have to go back :(
I honestly think that we chose the perfect place to stay because there is this super delicious street food stall with super nice owner who even tho doesn't understand what we were saying in English but tries his best to converse with us (includes hand signs and body actions loool)
They always make sure we get a big bag of lettuce and cabbage to go with the many sticks of fishballs and chickenballs (lol whut) that we buy because they said it will taste even better and it was true! We bought their food almost every night as supper in the room.
We bought 20 sticks which means 100 pieces on our last night and I miss it now damn it.
Just to further emphasise on this place because I love everything there, the design is very simple and modern, they have the nicest hosts. Due to my blue-ish green hair I forgot to use my own towel to wipe dry my hair causing their white towel to be stained with dye, I told Sunny, the host but he kept saying it was okay when I asked if I should pay a penalty.

Wearing top and bottom from Platinum Mall because Platinum Mall is like KL's Sungei Wang but with better quality clothing and nicer design! I bought quite a few clothes there and am still loving it.
Jam jam jam all the taimm.
It was already starting to turn warm in Bangkok on the day we left and I already felt slightly uncomfortable, imagine us going there when it's their usual warm weather omg.
Last day we went to nearby places so we walked to Terminal 21 and surprisingly the food court there is cheaper than any other shopping mall food court that we've been. But their Tom Yum wasn't good lol. I like how Bangkok's food court doesn't accept cash at each stall but you have to get a card and put in some money then scan it when you order food.
Back to Case Study Cafe to rest while we wait for the appropriate time to go to the airport, didn't walk around because it was getting warm and we both felt like hiding from the heat hahaha.
Here's MJ, the nicest and most helpful Thai that we've met at Bkk. Also she was the one who gave me those flowers awww.
Picture of gratitude and appreciation towards MJ even tho I look ugly af because she helped us a lot throughout this trip. If you ever go to Bangkok, you should consider Case Study Asoke for a comfortable and affordable space.
Overall, I had a lot of fun at Bangkok! Most of the people that we've met and talked to here are all really nice and friendly and willing to help. I am also glad that I went with my bf that has been the best travel companion and also good at taking trains because there is the underground MRT station and also the BTS sky train system and until now I still get confused about the stations so thank goodness I had him with me. I will definitely come back for more mango rice and green mangoes and coconut water and and garlic bread and Platinum Mall lol.
